The photos in this series were submitted to the Portrait of Britain 2020 competition. The location is Narrow Way, a pedestrian area at the north end of Mare Street, Hackney, which is the neighbourhood where I live. The local shops and population, representing a plethora of different cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds, contributed to the natural formation of a tight knit, beautifully diverse community, where mutual support and hard work never ceased to exist even during the Covid-19 pandemic.
